Did you know - that 'Echuca' comes from the local aboriginal dialect and means 'meeting of the waters'. Echuca, and it's neighbouring NSW town Moama are located at the junction of the Murray, Campaspe and Goulburn Rivers.

 Wesley Church Echuca
The former Wesley Church (Echuca) was erected for public worship in 1864. Echuca's founder, Henry Hopwood, laid the foundation stone and named the building 'Echuca Weslyan Church' A new building was opened in 1869 to replace the run down chapel. In 1875 a trsept and porch were added. From 1977 Wesley Church was operated by the Uniting Church but it closed with it's last service in 1993 and became classromms for St Mary's School.
