The Heritage Steam Festival celebrates the rich traditions and heritage that Echuca is famous for. Step back in time at the historic port to when the wharf was the busiest inland port in Australia.

Experiences the atmosphere and history of steam power including paddlesteamers, giant traction engines and other machinery of the past. There is a wide range of free entertainment including the "Street of Steam” with displays of rare steam engines, vintage cars, tractors and horse drawn wagons. There are also demonstartions of cross-cut saws and small engine operation.  The streets and people enjoy the popular period dress competition, street theatre and a Punch & Judy Show. There is also a street parade of transport from the 1850's to the 1960's including heavy horses and wagons, steam powered vehicles, vintage cars, trucks and tractors through to the relatively modern means of transport.

The world's largest collection of paddlesteamers will steam the river together in a marvellous display of pageantry, steam and whistles and a fireworks spectacular.
